I encountered a random man in my office today and asked if he needed help. Later in the day, I found out that he had just stolen my bosses wallet from her office and I helped him escape (not literally), I just thought he was a lost courier. Who knew. My co-worker and I had to report him to our building management and the bosses wallet was found on the 16th floor (we are located on the 19th) in a men's restroom. No one even knew there had been something stolen until PM called my boss to tell her someone found her wallet around 4:30 p.m. Luckily he only took some cash and left everything else. Crazy day.
My office fired the receptionist about 5 months ago, I'm thinking maybe they should fill the position so randoms don't come hanging out in the back offices where they don't belong. Oh and the door that is only supposed to be accessible by a badge was wide open. Hmm...
My co-worker and I felt a little responsible since we were the only ones to see the guy, but where was everyone else at 11:30 a.m. And how were we to know that the "lost courier" was actually only around to steal. He fooled us with his envelopes and papers.
